PRAMAN R-1000 — smart water sensing across residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • More than a level sensor — radar sensing and control in one enclosure.
  • Non-contact FMCW radar for tanks up to 6 metres deep.
  • Multiple level set-points in %, mm, cm, m, or ft — with relay actions on each trigger.
  • 4 programmable relays for pumps, valves, and alarms.
  • Wi-Fi EzConf setup, optional GSM 4G LTE, and GANIT Cloud monitoring.
  • Built-in application templates for overhead tank transfer, sump control, and more.
  • Supports cylindrical, rectangular, circular, and other tank geometries.

Technology

What is FMCW radar level sensing?

Radar level is still new to many plant and building teams who grew up with float switches, ultrasonic sensors, or pressure transmitters. FMCW — Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave — is a non-contact microwave method. The sensor sits above the liquid, continuously transmits a frequency-sweeping radar signal, and listens for the echo from the surface. The frequency difference between what is being sent and what returns is proportional to distance. From that distance and the tank geometry, PRAMAN calculates level — without touching the liquid.

  • Continuous wave energy gives a strong, stable echo compared with simple pulse methods.
  • Measurement is largely unaffected by vapour, foam, temperature swings, or changing liquid density.
  • No moving parts in the process — nothing to stick, corrode, or foul in the liquid.
  • Ideal for water tanks, sumps, reservoirs, overhead storage, and sewage pits.

Why radar

Advantages over floats, ultrasonics, and pressure

Floats wear and jam. Ultrasonic sensors struggle with foam, vapour, and turbulence. Submersible pressure sensors need contact with the liquid and can drift with density. FMCW radar stays above the process, keeps measuring through difficult surfaces, and stays accurate as conditions change — which is why it has become the preferred industrial approach for reliable tank level.

  • Non-contact — hygiene, corrosion, and maintenance stay out of the tank.
  • Works across plastic, metal, concrete (with a non-metallic window), underground, and open reservoirs.
  • Stable readings for control loops, not only for display.
  • Low ongoing ownership cost once installed.

Sensor + controller

More than a level transmitter

PRAMAN R-1000 is a radar level sensor and a controller in one. It does not only publish a 4–20 mA or Modbus reading — it lets you define multiple level set-points and drive field devices directly. Set levels as a percentage of tank volume or as actual depth in mm, cm, m, or ft. Assign each set-point an action for the programmable relays — start or stop a pump, open a valve, raise an alarm — without a separate PLC for many common tank duties.

  • Multiple set-points with flexible engineering units.
  • 4 programmable relays for high/low control and alarms.
  • Pre-built templates such as overhead tank transfer and sump level control.
  • 4–20 mA and Modbus RTU (RS-485) for PLC, SCADA, and BMS when you need them.
  • Wi-Fi EzConf for parameter setup; optional GSM 4G LTE and GANIT Cloud for remote visibility.

Capabilities

PRAMAN R-1000 key features

PRAMAN R-1000 key features — non-contact radar, connectivity, relays, tank shapes, and low power.

PRAMAN R-1000 is AMSAT Technologies’ FMCW radar level sensor + controller for commercial and industrial water and liquid storage. It measures level without contact, converts that reading into actionable set-points, and can operate pumps, valves, and alarms on site — while optionally reporting to GANIT Cloud for monitoring, logging, and analysis.

Core capabilities at a glance

  • Non-contact FMCW radar — accurate level without immersing a probe.
  • Tank depths up to 6 metres — sized for building and plant storage.
  • Multiple tank geometries — cylindrical, rectangular, circular, and more, with easy dimension entry.
  • Sensor + controller — set-points, relay logic, and application templates in the same device.
  • 4 programmable relays — flexible high/low and sequence control.
  • Connectivity — Wi-Fi EzConf as standard; Wi-Fi or GSM 4G LTE paths for remote monitoring and alerts via GANIT.
  • Industrial outputs — 4–20 mA and Modbus RTU (RS-485) for existing control systems.
  • Low power — efficient operation on typical mains supply (~1 W class).
  • Rugged build — IP65 enclosure for plant and outdoor-adjacent duty.

Application templates

Commissioning is faster when the duty is already known. PRAMAN R-1000 includes pre-built application templates such as:

  • Overhead tank transfer — fill and stop logic from source to overhead storage.
  • Sump level control — pump-out on rising level, stop on low level.
  • Additional site patterns configured through the same set-point and relay framework.

Easy configuration — EzConf over Wi-Fi

Parameters are set through AMSAT’s Wi-Fi based EzConf captive portal: join the device network from a phone or laptop, open the browser page, and configure tank dimensions, units, set-points, relay actions, and connectivity. No special app store install is required for that local setup path.

The line under the PRAMAN mark is simple: what is measured, is known — and with R-1000, what is measured can also be controlled.
